Trinity Window, Avondale, PA (7' 9'' diameter)
The challenge in the design of this Trinity Window was to
feature each of three elements as separate entities that when viewed
together, merge into a consistent and interconnected whole. Our
design makes use of a full spectrum of color to symbolize the completeness
of the Trinity. While we relied on familiar symbols to represent
the three personalities, the unusual rendering of the dove, hand
and cross make for an entirely contemporary interpretation. Be sure
to look carefully for the outline of a fetus buried in the leadwork
of the cross medallion. The opalescent outer border and the busy
pattern of the triangle background echo the intense leading patterns
and American glass types featured in the adjacent turn-of-the-twentieth-century
American windows. |
